Even though being a video game designer does not require a college degree I will still go to college any way for the experience and a college degree for a backup job. The average salary for a video game designer is $78,010 and the lowest is $50,000 nationally. Here are 2 of the core subjects in a job as a video game designer: math and computer graphics, you need math because you have to know the area of certain shapes and how many meta files will be needed for the game and how much memory it takes up so that you know what you can upload it to. You also have to know how to use computer programs well if you are going to be working with the graphics of a video game because that is the most important part of video games now because when people buy video games they want the graphics to be pretty good. I love math and computers so this job would be great for me. I think that I would be a very good video game designer because I play many video games and I have created a lot of fun and good games of my own on a program called scratch at home and at school. I am pretty good at working with other people in a team but sometimes I get ahead of myself. I’ve found ways in games to do stuff that shouldn’t have been possible. If anybody in my family needs help with video games other than the ones on the computer they come and ask me. This is why I would love being a video game designer and would be good at it too. http://vaview.org/68/careersq-search/career/15-1099.13 home
